KUALA LUMPUR: A weak earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale occurred in the eastern waters of Sabah at 2.11 pm today.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department in a statement said the epicenter of the earthquake was located at 6.2 degrees north and 118.4 degrees east, with a depth of 10 km, which is 57 kilometers northeast of Sandakan, Sabah.
