KUALA LUMPUR: Today’s Dewan Rakyat sitting will focus on frozen bank accounts under money laundering suspicions and artificial intelligence misuse risks.

Teresa Kok Suh Sim will question the Finance Minister about improving coordination between banks, Bank Negara and enforcement agencies.

She seeks to expedite appeals for accounts frozen under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.

Her question also aims to establish more transparent and effective procedures for affected account holders.

Datuk Mumtaz Md Nawi will ask the Minister of Energy Transition about a Vietnamese wind energy project landing in Kelantan.

She also seeks details on green energy plans for East Coast Peninsular Malaysia within the ASEAN context.

Datuk Dr Suhaili Abdul Rahman will question the Communications Minister about measures against AI technology misuse.

This includes tackling deepfakes, ChatGPT and other tools spreading fake news and manipulating media.

Such AI misuse can cause public alarm and racial tension according to the question.

The question-and-answer session will be followed by the fifth day of Budget 2026 policy debate.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim tabled the Supply Bill on October 18.

Policy-stage debate continues for eight days until October 28 according to Parliament’s schedule.

Committee-stage debate will then run for fourteen days from November 5 to November 27.

The current Parliament meeting continues for thirty-five days until December 4. – Bernama
