THE 2026 Proton X70 Sport Edition is now launched, a limited-run variant priced at RM 115,300 on-the-road without insurance in Peninsular Malaysia. Based on the Premium variant, the Sport Edition is limited to 600 units and is offered exclusively in Quartz Black.
Externally, the X70 Sport Edition receives a dedicated aerokit that includes front, side and rear skirts, all finished with red accents. It also gets 19-inch alloy wheels in gloss black, along with Sport Edition badging on the tailgate.

Inside, updates are focused on styling and minor practicality additions. The cabin features red contrast stitching on the seats, steering wheel and front armrest, along with Sport Edition embroidery on the front seats. A boot tray is also included as part of the package.
According to Proton, the enhancements are valued at RM 6,000, although the price premium over the standard Premium variant is RM 2,500.

Mechanically, there are no changes. The Proton X70 Sport Edition retains the 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 181 PS and 290 Nm, paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission driving the front wheels.
The equipment list remains identical to the Premium variant, including a 12.3-inch infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a full Level 2 ADAS suite.

Each purchase also comes with Proton’s launch package, which includes a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, 5-year data package, financing options, trade-in support (up to RM 2000), and insurance benefits.
