JDT edge Kuching City 2-1 despite playing with 10 men

Johor Darul Ta’zim secured a 2-1 comeback win over Kuching City FC in the Super League, overcoming a red card for captain Natxo Insa.

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Johor Darul Ta’zim maintained their unbeaten Super League run with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Kuching City FC.

The match at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium saw JDT dominate early possession but struggle to convert their chances.

Kuching City pulled off a surprise by taking the lead in the 41st minute through Scott Woods.

JDT’s task was complicated when captain Natxo Insa received a red card after a VAR review in the 55th minute.

The home side responded brilliantly, equalising just three minutes later through Ignacio Mendez’s strike from outside the box.

Bergson da Silva then completed the comeback, scoring the winner in the 64th minute from Manuel Hidalgo’s assist.

In another match, Penang FC secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Kuala Lumpur City FC at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium.

Faith Obilor scored the only goal of that game in the 36th minute.
