A woman shares a disturbing encounter with a perverted man while jogging at Titiwangsa Lake Park, sparking online safety alerts

JOGGING alone comes with a safety alert for women at the popular Titiwangsa Lake Park, following a disturbing encounter shared online.

A woman said on Threads that she was approached by a man asking to charge his phone after her morning jog.

“From his appearance, he looked like he was working — some kind of ‘mechanic on the go’ job. My first thought was because his hands looked very dark and dirty. Then he got off a call with his child, saying he was at work. I had just finished jogging slowly and was exhausted,” she wrote.

She allowed him to charge his phone briefly while they chatted. After sometime she felt uncomfortable with the conversation as it led somewhere “not right”.

“I acted like nothing was happening, worried that my negative thinking was overreacting. Once his phone turned on, he started scrolling on it. Then things got strange — what he said became perverted, and his behaviour was also like that. I secretly looked at his phone… and it turned out he was watching porn,” she revealed.

The post quickly gained attention, with netizens tagging friends who regularly jog in Titiwangsa to alert them about the incident.

Commenting on the post, Ikmal wrote: “When someone becomes so addicted to adult content, their whole mindset gets distorted, all because of lust.”

Another user urged the public to be careful regardless of their gender when a stranger approaches. “Worried about encountering something like this or getting drugged . The world is dangerous these days.”

Many users tagged people in their circle, who jog there to alert them about their safety there.

A user said seeing cases like this terrifies her from socialising. “I’m scared to talk to strangers. No matter where I walk, I’m afraid to make eye contact — better to act like you don’t see anyone. Next time, I’ll prioritise my own safety. Nowadays, there are so many bad people out there. Take care, everyone.”
