Malaysia Airports says independent assessors Alstom and IJMC-PESTECH will submit consolidated Aerotrain review reports by mid-January 2026.
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) announced that two independent assessors reviewing the KLIA Aerotrain system are expected to submit their consolidated reports by mid-January 2026.
The assessors, Alstom and the IJMC-PESTECH joint venture, are examining the train’s design, installation, operations and maintenance.

The plan commenced on 15 November 2025 and is led by MAHB with full involvement from the contractors and project consultants.
Stage 1 and Stage 2, involving overall inspections, rectification works and simulation testing, have been successfully completed.
Verification and rectification works are currently underway to ensure system integrity and operational safety.
Stage 3 trial operations will now commence as planned and continue through the end of December.
During this period, the system will be tested under various operational scenarios.
These trials are a critical step in confirming the effectiveness of the corrective measures.
The next official update on the Aerotrain will be shared in January 2026.
In the meantime, the Aerotrain continues to operate as usual during the day.
To ensure uninterrupted passenger movement, a full shuttle-bus service will be deployed nightly during off-peak hours from 9 pm to 7 am.
This is to facilitate the ongoing validation works.
MAHB remains committed to ensuring passenger safety and comfort while upholding the highest operational standards.
“We thank all passengers for their understanding and cooperation during this period,” the company said. – Bernama
