All parties must follow education ministry rules for school programmes

Politicians, NGOs and influencers attending school events must adhere to MOE guidelines, says deputy minister, to ensure activities benefit students.

IPOH: All parties attending programmes at schools must comply with guidelines set by the Ministry of Education.

Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh said this includes politicians, non-governmental organisations, dignitaries, and social media influencers.

He stated that the District Education Office and State Education Department can consider who may attend, taking into account input from the schools.

“What is important is that any activity or programme carried out in schools should benefit our children,” Wong said.

He added that authorities want to ensure all guidelines are fully adhered to.

Wong spoke to reporters after handing over smartboards to 83 Tamil national type schools in Perak.

The handover involved allocations totalling RM984,000.
