SHAH ALAM: Bandar Sungai Buaya in Hulu Selangor will embark on a new phase of development following the settlement of compensation for Felda Sungai Buaya land worth RM74.2 million last month.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government would focus on zoned planning to ensure the development was balanced between progress and public welfare.
He stated that the state government would continue to focus on zone planning, public amenities and houses of worship so that the area can be developed in a balanced manner.
Amirudin explained that the compensation due to 365 former Felda settlers for over three decades was finally resolved fully by the land management company Murna Jaya Development Berhad on September 19.
He noted this settlement resulted from the state government’s determination and transparency with the related party since 2018.
Some of the settlers had even died while the younger ones were now reaching 80 years old according to the Menteri Besar.
He added that the state government and all related parties had worked hard to ensure every settler obtained the rights they deserved.
Amirudin had earlier said during the final payment ceremony that the state government wanted to see Bandar Sungai Buaya developed well.
He mentioned that Murna Jaya Development Berhad was carrying out zoning surveys for the area’s development.
The state government was also ready to provide support if there was a need according to the Menteri Besar.
He concluded that with interchanges and existing industries Bandar Sungai Buaya was ready to move forward and develop. – Bernama
