Alor Setar girl bites attacker to escape abduction

A Form Two student in Alor Setar bit her attacker’s hand and fled to a tuition centre after a man tried to abduct her on a motorcycle.

ALOR SETAR: A Form Two female student escaped an attempted abduction in Pekan Simpang Kuala near here last night.

Kota Setar police chief ACP Syed Basri Syed Ali said in the 8.26 pm incident, the victim, a student at a secondary school here, was approached by an unidentified man on a motorcycle.

“As the victim was walking along a lane in the town, the suspect stopped his motorcycle in front of her before grabbing and covering her face with his hand.

“The victim managed to escape after biting the suspect’s hand and ran to a nearby tuition centre to seek help,” he said in a statement today.

He said the victim lodged a police report today and the case was being investigated under Section 363 of the Penal Code, Section 511 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

“We have also sought assistance from the D10 Forensics Division of the Criminal Investigation Department at the Kedah Police Contingent Headquarters to obtain samples from the scene.

“Efforts to trace the suspect are ongoing and members of the public with information on the incident or the suspect are urged to contact the police immediately for further action,” he said.
