The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry seized 190 LPG cylinders and a lorry in Kajang for suspected unlicensed storage of controlled goods
KAJANG: The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) has seized 190 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders and a lorry in an enforcement operation.
The raid on a premises here earlier this month uncovered the controlled goods, with an estimated total value of RM83,116.
KPDN’s director-general of enforcement, Datuk Azman Adam, said the action followed intelligence on suspected unlicensed storage.
“The zinc-fenced premises was found locked before the raid team gained entry,” he said in a statement.
Checks uncovered a lorry carrying 110 units of 14 kg LPG cylinders.
A further 80 LPG cylinders of 14 kg and 50 kg capacity were found on the premises platform.
Preliminary investigations revealed the supply was obtained from a company in Bandar Rinching, Semenyih.
Azman confirmed the Kajang premises did not possess any valid licence to store or conduct business involving controlled LPG.
A man and a woman, believed involved in transporting the LPG, were detained to assist in the investigation.
The case is being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 and its related regulations.
