Man seriously injured after brother slashes him with machete

A 56-year-old man sustained serious head injuries after his younger brother allegedly attacked him with a machete in Ayer Tawar, Manjung.

IPOH: A man sustained serious head injuries after his younger brother allegedly slashed him with a machete at their family home in Ayer Tawar, Manjung.

The 56-year-old victim is currently receiving treatment at Seri Manjung Hospital following the afternoon attack.

Manjung police chief ACP Hasbullah Abd Rahman said authorities received a public report about a sibling fight around 1.30 pm.

Investigations revealed both brothers lived together in the same house with the 49-year-old suspect’s family.

“The fight started when the suspect was upset that the victim kicked the bathroom door while his daughter was inside,” Hasbullah stated.

Police arrested the suspect at 1.55 pm and confiscated the machete believed used in the assault.
