The Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department conducted Ops Ambang Tahun Baharu at 240 locations nationwide from 11 pm.
Bukit Aman deputy director DCP Mohd Rozi Jidin said 25 locations were within the federal capital, with operations running simultaneously in all states.
Over 300 officers and 2,000 personnel were involved alongside agencies like the JPJ, AADK, and the Department of Environment.
“The main focus was to manage traffic flow, tackle illegal street racing, and identify drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Mohd Rozi said at a press conference.
In a separate operation, police issued 378 traffic summonses after inspecting 800 motorcycles.
Kuala Lumpur Traffic chief ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said Ops Samseng Jalanan was conducted at four locations from 2.45 am.
