Police confirm a viral fight at a Taiping restaurant was settled amicably by the involved parties, who later shook hands on video
TAIPING: Police have confirmed a widely shared social media video of a fight at a restaurant here has been resolved amicably.
Taiping District Police Chief ACP Mohamad Nasir Ismail said the altercation involved two customers and two restaurant workers due to a misunderstanding.
All four individuals attended the Taiping District Police Headquarters for investigation on the day of the incident.
He stated both parties reached a mutual agreement to settle the matter peacefully.
“They lodged police reports stating the misunderstanding had been settled amicably,” Mohamad Nasir said in a statement.
Another viral video subsequently showed the individuals shaking hands.
The police confirmed the incident was investigated and resolved on December 20.
