Lindsey Vonn secures spot on US Olympic ski team for Milan-Cortina 2026

Skiing legend Lindsey Vonn, 41, will compete at her fifth Winter Olympics after a successful comeback season, leading the World Cup downhill standings

AMERICAN skiing legend Lindsey Vonn has officially secured her place on the US team for the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

The US skiing federation confirmed the 41-year-old’s selection on Tuesday, marking her fifth Olympic appearance.

Vonn returned to competition just over a year ago following a break of more than five years.

Her impressive comeback season includes four podium finishes and one victory from five races.

She currently leads the World Cup downhill standings after three starts this season.

Those results guarantee her a spot in the Olympic downhill race scheduled for February 8 in Cortina d’Ampezzo.

Vonn has an exceptional record at the Italian venue, with twelve career victories there.

She has won six downhill races and six super-G events in Cortina.

Her Olympic medal haul includes downhill gold and super-G bronze from Vancouver 2010.

She added another bronze medal in the downhill at the Pyeongchang 2018 Games.

The Milan-Cortina Olympics will be held from February 6 to 22.
