Pahang police arrest three foreign plantation workers for murder of Indonesian woman whose decomposed body was found under oil palm fronds
KUANTAN: Police have arrested three foreign men in connection with the murder of an Indonesian woman whose decomposed body was discovered at a Bentong oil palm plantation.
Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said the suspects, all in their 30s, were workers at the plantation where the body was found on November 3.
The post-mortem revealed the 41-year-old victim had likely been murdered nearly two weeks before plantation workers discovered her body under a pile of oil palm fronds.
“One of the suspects has confessed to his involvement in the crime,” Yahaya told a press conference at the Pahang Police Headquarters today.
He said the victim, who lived in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, had traveled to the plantation to meet one of the suspects before a dispute led to her murder.
Police will apply for a remand order to complete the investigation and determine the motive behind the killing.
The woman’s decomposed body was initially reported found at the oil palm estate along Batu 19, Karak-Kuala Pilah Road in Telemong, Bentong on November 4. – Bernama
