Sabah DAP will announce its candidates for the state election on November 8, expressing confidence despite recent party departures.
SANDAKAN: Sabah DAP will announce its candidate list for the state election in Kota Kinabalu this Saturday.
Deputy chairman Datuk Chan Foong Hin said the party is prepared and confident in all selected candidates.
The Deputy Minister of Plantation and Commodities stated Sandakan voters can judge DAP’s track record themselves.
“I stopped by the MADANI Community Service Centre here, and I saw and felt DAP’s presence here… so, there is no issue of us being less confident,” he told reporters.
Regarding defending the Tanjung Papat seat, Chan said the DAP machinery remains ready despite the incumbent’s departure.
Frankie Ming Fung quit DAP last month along with nine branch members.
Tanjung Papat was among six seats DAP won in the 2020 state election.
The others were Luyang, Likas, Kapayan, Elopura and Sri Tanjong.
Polling day is set for November 29 with nomination on November 15.
Early voting will take place on November 25. – Bernama
