Kuala Lumpur City Hall will hold monthly mayoral consultation meetings in every parliamentary constituency from April to address local issues more effectively.
KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will adopt a new grassroots approach by initiating monthly mayoral consultation meetings in every parliamentary constituency starting in April.
Federal Territories Minister Hannah Yeoh announced that these sessions will be chaired by the DBKL executive director, acting as the mayor’s representative, and co-chaired by the respective constituency Members of Parliament.
She stated that this strategy aims to strengthen the role of DBKL branch offices and deploy headquarters’ resources directly to the ground for quicker issue resolution.
Relevant agencies and stakeholders will also be invited to ensure coordinated discussions and more effective implementation of solutions.
Yeoh emphasised that the city administration must remain closely connected to the realities faced by local residents.
She believes this approach will bring DBKL closer to the community, enabling people’s issues to be addressed more swiftly, accurately, and effectively.
The initiative was confirmed following a Council of Ministers meeting attended by senior DBKL management and Kuala Lumpur MPs to discuss matters relating to DBKL administration.
