A former bus driver and a woman are remanded for four days over a dangerous driving incident on the PLUS highway that went viral on social media

JASIN: A former express bus driver and a woman have been remanded for four days to assist in a dangerous driving investigation.

Magistrate Mazana Sinin issued the order at the Jasin Magistrate’s Court today.

The suspects, aged 36 and 21, presented themselves at the Jasin District Police Headquarters yesterday.

They were detained after giving their statements to the authorities.

The pair are being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

The case involves the former driver allegedly driving dangerously while engaging in inappropriate behaviour with the woman.

The incident is believed to have occurred on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) on April 12.

It happened near the southbound entrance of the Bemban Rest and Service area around 7.30 pm.

Police detected a viral video recording of the incident on social media the following day.

The video surfaced online at approximately 5.30 pm on April 13.
