Four men arrested for armed robbery of Bangladeshi worker in Iskandar Puteri

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Police have arrested four local men suspected of involvement in an armed robbery against a Bangladeshi worker at Taman Pulai Mutiara last Thursday.

Iskandar Puteri District Police chief ACP M. Kumarasan stated the incident occurred around 7 am while the 43-year-old victim was performing renovation work at a house.

He explained the suspects, armed with a hoe, tied up the victim before fleeing with his personal belongings and construction tools.

Acting on information, a police team from the Iskandar Puteri District Criminal Investigation Division arrested the four local men aged between 32 and 42 in Taman Pulai Utama, Kangkar Pulai, at 9 pm on October 26.

Checks revealed three suspects had previous criminal and drug-related records, while urine tests confirmed they were positive for methamphetamine.

Police also seized several items including a grass-cutting machine, a grinder, and clothing believed used during the robbery.

Kumarasan confirmed all suspects have been remanded for seven days starting today.

The case is being investigated under Section 395 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and Section 397 for armed robbery or causing hurt. – Bernama
