Four river stations in Selangor recorded warning-level water levels as of 8.15pm today, says DID.
SHAH ALAM: Four river stations operated by the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) recorded water levels above the warning level as at 8.15 pm today.
Based on data from the DID portal at publicinfobanjir.water.gov.my, the affected stations are Sungai Bakul at Kampung Budiman, Petaling; Sungai Rasau at Taman Desa Kemuning, Klang; Sungai Rasau at Tugu Keris, Klang; and Sungai Binjai at Pekan Meru, Klang.
According to the portal, the warning level indicates that river water levels are nearing flood levels, and residents in affected areas are advised to prepare for any evacuation action.
Meanwhile, several social media users shared updates on flooding in several areas here, including reports that flood warning sirens had been activated this evening.
A Threads user, @azleee77, said the first warning siren was sounded at 5.45 pm before it was changed to a danger siren at 6.40 pm.
Another Threads user, @miazays, shared images of rising water levels around Central i-City, Shah Alam.
As at press time, the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) had yet to confirm the flood situation in the affected areas.
