The government’s anti-corruption measures have saved RM15.5 billion, with a continued focus on fighting graft and strengthening governance.

IPOH: The government remains steadfast in its commitment to combat corruption and strengthen governance.

Political secretary to the Minister of Finance, Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim, stated that enforcement measures have successfully saved RM15.5 billion in national funds.

“As Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim mentioned, RM15.5 billion was saved as a result of anti-corruption enforcement measures,” he told reporters after a meeting with farmers in Tambun.

He emphasised that this significant saving is the core achievement of the government’s ongoing efforts.

Following the meeting with Chinese farmers’ representatives, Muhammad Kamil proposed ideas to address agricultural challenges in the area.

He suggested modern farming methods like vertical farming to overcome limited land availability in the Tambun parliamentary constituency.

“I will try to meet with stakeholders, including state-owned subsidiaries, to propose alternative suggestions next week,” he said.

Some farmers also requested more adequate compensation for their land.

Muhammad Kamil pledged to raise and discuss these issues further with the relevant authorities.

He will convey the farmers’ concerns regarding land matters to Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.
