The Social Welfare Department upgrades village facilities and implements social initiatives in Kampung Kedah under the MADANI Adopted Village Programme.
PARIT BUNTAR: The Social Welfare Department has implemented seven physical projects and 14 social programmes benefiting residents of Kampung Kedah through the MADANI Adopted Village Programme.
JKM director-general Datuk Che Murad Sayang Ramjan said basic facility upgrades included the village square, fences, and works at the Taman Seri Tenggara Senior Citizens Activity Centre.
His department also upgraded the village sepak takraw court, the Taman Seri Tenggara District and Land Office Hall, and the disaster goods mini depot.
Additional projects included constructing a mini recreational park, a MADANI Adopted Village monument, and a gazebo for SMK Panglima Bukit Gantang.
Repairs were also completed on the disabled-friendly toilet and septic tank at Surau Nur Jihad Kampung Kedah.
“All these projects can complete the basic facilities of the village for the needs of local residents to carry out recreational, social and spiritual activities,” he told reporters after the programme’s closing ceremony.
Che Murad Sayang said his department implemented 14 social programmes covering community psychology, child advocacy, and support for the elderly and disabled.
JKM remains committed to supporting community development through professional assistance and social intervention programmes.
“I believe that the upgraded facilities can be used as best as possible by local residents,” he added.
The MADANI Adopted Village Programme aims to bridge the development gap between urban and rural areas.
This whole-of-nation approach allows civil servants from various agencies to engage directly with communities.
