Home Ministry says Israel-issued travel documents not recognised for entry into Malaysia, citing national security
PUTRAJAYA: The Home Ministry (KDN) will continue to strengthen Malaysia’s border controls by enforcing stringent immigration checks, law enforcement and security measures in line with the MADANI Government’s policy on Israel.
In a statement today, KDN said it fully supports Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s firm stance on Israel and Malaysia’s continued commitment to defending the rights of the Palestinian people while safeguarding the country’s national interests.
“In line with the government’s policy of having no diplomatic relations with Israel, travel documents issued by Israel are not recognised for entry into Malaysia,” the statement read.
KDN said all applications by foreign nationals to enter Malaysia are subject to comprehensive immigration screening, security vetting and risk assessments.
Through the Immigration Department, KDN will continue to enforce all relevant laws governing the entry of foreign nationals, including the Immigration Act 1959/1963 (Act 155), the Passport Act 1966 (Act 160), existing immigration regulations and security assessments conducted by national security agencies.
The ministry said individuals deemed to pose a threat to national security, public order or the national interest, including those classified as prohibited immigrants under Section 8 of the Immigration Act 1959/1963, will not be permitted to enter Malaysia or will face appropriate legal action.
KDN said border management extends beyond immigration matters and forms an integral part of the country’s national security framework, which is jointly implemented with the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), the National Security Council (MKN), the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS), and other relevant enforcement agencies.
The ministry said the integrated approach reflects its ongoing commitment to ensuring that all decisions on the entry of foreign nationals take into account national security, sovereignty, public interest and compliance with Malaysian laws.
It added that border security will continue to be enhanced through the use of advanced technology, intelligence sharing, risk profiling and integrated enforcement to ensure Malaysia remains safe, sovereign and protected from threats to national security.
