King briefed on progress of Tunku Laksamana Abdul Jalil Mosque

Sultan Ibrahim was updated on the mosque’s construction in Johor Bahru, funded by a bequest from his late son, Tunku Abdul Jalil.

KUALA LUMPUR: Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, was briefed on the development of the Tunku Laksamana Abdul Jalil Mosque in Johor Bahru today.

The mosque is located on Jalan Kolam Air near Istana Bukit Serene in Johor.

According to a post on His Majesty’s official Facebook page, the project is funded by a bequest from his late son, Tunku Abdul Jalil Sultan Ibrahim.

Tunku Abdul Jalil, the Tunku Laksamana of Johor, passed away on 5 December 2015.

The mosque will have a capacity for nearly 1,000 worshippers at one time.

Earlier, Sultan Ibrahim granted an audience to Johor State Secretary Datuk Asman Shah Abd Rahman and Johor Mufti Datuk Yahya Ahmad at Istana Pasir Pelangi.

Also present were Johor Islamic Religious Council CEO Mohd Radzi Mohd Amin and Johor Islamic Religious Department director Nasri Md Ali.

Johor Public Works Department director Zainal Tumian was also in attendance. – Bernama
