KTMB cancels MySawasdee trains to Hat Yai due to severe flooding

MySawasdee trains 1004 and 1005 cancelled as floods close Thai railway tracks. KTMB offers full fare refunds via KTM Wallet for affected passengers.

KUALA LUMPUR: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad has cancelled two MySawasdee train services due to severe flooding in southern Thailand.

MySawasdee 1004 from KL Sentral to Hat Yai this Friday and MySawasdee 1005 from Hat Yai to KL Sentral on December 1 will not operate.

Flood waters have forced the closure of railway tracks in the Padang Besar-Hat Yai sector, including Hat Yai station.

KTMB made the decision following safety assessments and confirmation from Thai authorities.

Passenger safety remains the top priority, according to the railway operator.

A total of 840 tickets were offered for both cancelled services.

Full fare refunds will be transferred immediately to passengers’ KTM Wallet for future ticket purchases.

Currently, 652 passengers have not yet cancelled their tickets.

Another 188 passengers made early cancellations and can redeem their remaining fare refund.

Online ticket purchasers can cancel via the KITS application by selecting the MyTicket menu.

They should then choose Upcoming Ticket and Refund options.

KTMB will announce the next MySawasdee service schedule based on flood developments in Hat Yai.

The railway operator apologised for any inconvenience caused to passengers.

It appreciated the patience and cooperation of all parties throughout this situation.

Passengers can contact the KTMB call centre at 03-9779 1200 for more information.
