A 60-year-old man died after his vehicle fell into a six-metre ravine on Jalan Mujong, with rescue teams using ropes to retrieve his body.
KAPIT: A 60-year-old man was killed after the vehicle he was in plunged into a ravine along Jalan Mujong, Bukit Banyaudi here this morning.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 8.17 am.
A fire engine was dispatched from the Kapit Fire and Rescue Station but could not access the exact location due to narrow road conditions and a steep embankment.

The rescue team then used a four-wheel-drive vehicle to reach the scene.
They descended the six-metre-deep ravine using safety ropes and a stretcher to extricate the victim, who was trapped inside the vehicle.

One male victim was found in the vehicle and brought up to the roadside.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His remains were later handed over to the police for further action. – Bernama
