Ministers extend Christmas greetings

Ministers nationwide extend Christmas greetings, highlighting the festival’s values of peace, unity and harmony as pillars of the nation’s diverse society.

KUALA LUMPUR: Ministers have extended festive greetings to Christians nationwide on the eve of Christmas.

They underscored the importance of harmony, unity and togetherness in the country’s multiracial society.

National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said harmony forms the foundation of national stability.

“Christmas reminds us that harmony is the basis of national stability,” he said in a Facebook post.

He added that without harmony, it is difficult to build a stable and prosperous nation.

Human Resource Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said Christmas reflects universal values such as love, sacrifice and peace.

He stated these values are essential for fostering a harmonious society in line with Malaysia MADANI’s aspirations.

He added that Christmas highlights the nation’s diversity, with tolerance and unity forming the foundation of social stability.

“Let us together respect adherents of all religions,” Ramanan said.

Natural Resources Minister Datuk Seri Arthur Joseph Kurup described Christmas as a reminder of humanitarian values and unity.

“In these challenging times, it is this spirit that will continue to strengthen the bonds among us as one big Malaysian family,” he said.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh also extended Christmas greetings to Christians in Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the festive season reflected values of gratitude, compassion and togetherness that resonated deeply in Malaysia’s diverse society.

“In a society where people of different races and religious backgrounds celebrate their traditions side by side throughout the year, this spirit of understanding and respect has long been one of Malaysia’s greatest strengths.

“As we continue to move ahead as a nation, these are values that we must safeguard and uphold, so that future progress remains inclusive, harmonious and rooted in unity,” he said in a Facebook posting.

Loke also wished Malaysians safe travels during the holidays and expressed appreciation to transport frontliners and essential workers for their tireless service in keeping the nation connected throughout the festive season.
