JASIN: An old aerial bomb weighing 227 kilogrammes was discovered at a construction site in Kampung Air Panas, Bemban.

A 52-year-old male worker found the ordnance during excavation work at about 3 pm yesterday.

Jasin police chief Supt Lee Robert said initial investigations confirmed the object was an aerial bomb measuring between 27 and 36 centimetres in circumference and 1.14 metres in length.

“The rusty bomb is scheduled to be disposed of today in accordance with standard operating procedures to ensure the safety of the public and the surrounding area,” he said in a statement.

He advised the public against making any speculation that could cause concern or disrupt public order.
