Selangor fire department has contained 95% of the Olak Lempit industrial fire, with three fatalities found and a cause investigation underway.
BANTING: Firefighters have extinguished 95% of a major blaze at the Olak Lempit Industrial Area.
The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department expects the fire, which involved four premises, to be fully put out later today.
Operations are now in the overhaul phase, focusing on dousing small remaining embers.
A thorough inspection is also being conducted to ensure no other victims are trapped.
The department has activated its K9 dog tracking unit and body recovery team to sweep a burnt warehouse and factory.
Three charred bodies were discovered in the first warehouse razed, identified as the Pentas Flora premises.
They were found during overhaul work at the scene.
The fire destroyed a warehouse and a polymer factory completely.
Intense heat from the blaze also caused damage to two other nearby premises.
An investigation into the cause of the fire has begun.
Department officials stated the probe could take up to 14 days to complete.
The department was first alerted to the incident at about 11.03 pm yesterday.
It immediately mobilised 69 personnel and officers to the scene.
