Bukit Katil’s WRUR programme received 230 complaints, with most resolved and others coordinated with agencies for street lighting, bus stops and citizenship
MELAKA: The Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat (WRUR) programme for the Bukit Katil state constituency received a total of 230 complaints on various issues.
Bukit Katil assemblyman Adly Zahari said most complaints have been resolved, with the remainder being coordinated with relevant agencies for further action.
“Among the main complaints received were requests for additional street lighting, particularly in Kampung Bukit Pulau,“ he told reporters after the programme at Melaka Mall.
He said residents also requested a new bus stop, which will be coordinated with the local authorities.
Complaints related to citizenship issues will be referred to the relevant ministry for further assessment.
Adly, who is also Deputy Defence Minister, said other complaints involved the need to improve infrastructure, including bridge widening and drainage upgrades.
“We need to assess the current needs for each complaint or request,“ he added.
He noted some issues can be resolved within two weeks, while infrastructure projects requiring new development will be implemented once the budget is approved.
The Bukit Katil WRUR programme also featured community activities and participation from several government departments and agencies.
These included briefings on public services to better engage with residents.
“Our aim is not only to provide services but also to understand the community’s needs and ensure that every issue raised receives proper attention,“ Adly said.
Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Ab Rauf Yusoh was also present at the event. – Bernama
