CAAM confirms tyre burst incident at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport

A Malaysia Airlines flight aborted take-off after a tyre burst at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport, with all passengers and crew reported safe.

ALOR SETAR: The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has confirmed an incident involving a Malaysia Airlines aircraft at Sultan Abdul Halim Airport.

The Boeing 737, registration 9M-MXH, aborted its take-off after experiencing a tyre burst at 3.41 pm today.

“All passengers and crew are reported safe and have disembarked the aircraft,” CAAM stated in a Facebook post.

The flight was scheduled to depart for Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

Malaysia Airports informed that the runway was reopened at 7.30 pm after receiving final safety clearance from CAAM.

The airport operator said flight operations had since resumed.
