Deputy PM Ahmad Zahid says digital creative and animation are new TVET focus areas to develop skilled talent and high-value jobs for Malaysia.
KUALA LUMPUR: The high-impact digital creative and animation sector has been identified as a new focus area in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) agenda.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic) said this sector is an economic ecosystem capable of producing skilled talent and creating high-value job opportunities.
He said the TVET agenda will continue to be strengthened to remain relevant to future industry needs, including the rapidly growing digital creative sector.
“Earlier this afternoon, I received a briefing on a new initiative involving a national project related to TVET, designed to drive human capital development, particularly through a high-impact digital creative and animation industry approach,” he said in a Facebook post.
Ahmad Zahid added that this approach, which links training, industry and the creation of intellectual property, should be explored seriously and in stages.
He said the sector is also capable of elevating Malaysia’s image on the global stage.
