ETS3 to Johor Bahru set to boost mobility and tourism by mid-December

ETS3 service to Johor Bahru will start by mid-December, enhancing public transport and tourism ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026

SEGAMAT: The expansion of the Electric Train Service 3 to Johor Bahru is now in its final preparation phase and expected to significantly improve public transport mobility and boost tourism in Johor ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke stated that this new service is scheduled to begin operations no later than mid-December.

He expressed confidence that the ETS3 will support increased tourist numbers in conjunction with Visit Johor 2026.

“This additional transport mode in Johor will particularly benefit the tourism sector in secondary towns and small towns like Segamat, Labis, Kluang and Kulai,” he said.

All technical work aspects are currently being finalised before ticket prices are announced soon.

The ETS route extension from Gemas to Johor Bahru will cover major stops in Segamat, Kluang and Kulai before terminating at Johor Bahru Sentral Station.

This extension completes the west coast railway line of Peninsular Malaysia, providing seamless rail connectivity along the entire western corridor. – Bernama
