Flood evacuee numbers drop in three states, Pahang unchanged

Flood evacuee numbers fall in Selangor, Perak, and Perlis, while Pahang’s count remains steady, with relief centres still operational

KUALA LUMPUR: The flood situation in three states improved with a drop in evacuee numbers, while figures in Pahang remained unchanged as of 8 am today.

In Selangor, the number of evacuees decreased to 993 people from 291 families.

A total of 19 relief centres are still operating across four districts.

In Perak, evacuee numbers also dropped to 3,156 people from 927 families at 19 centres.

Hilir Perak recorded the highest number of evacuees with 1,553 people.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department forecast thunderstorms and heavy rain in several Perak districts this afternoon and evening.

In Pahang, the number of evacuees remains at 124 people from 34 families in six centres.

The number of evacuees in Perlis continued to decrease to 331 people in four relief centres.

These evacuees are from the Padang Besar, Kangar, and Arau areas. – Bernama
