The number of flood evacuees in Sarawak and Sabah has decreased, with 3,383 people still housed in temporary relief centres across both states.
KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 3,383 flood victims remain housed in temporary relief centres (PPS) in Sarawak and Sabah as of this evening.
Both states have recorded a decrease in the overall number of evacuees.
In Sarawak, the number of victims decreased slightly to 3,019 people from 888 families.

This morning, the state had recorded 3,031 victims from 876 families.
The Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) said all victims are accommodated in 40 PPS.
The centres are located in Serian (23), Kuching, Simunjan, Gedong, Sibu and Mukah (one each), Bintulu (two), Miri (three), Balai Ringin (three), and Samarahan (four).
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) had issued a continuous rain warning at alert level for several areas in Sarawak until today.
In Sabah, flood victims also showed a downward trend with 364 people from 136 families recorded.
This morning, the state had 462 victims from 157 families.
The Sabah JPBN secretariat informed that two PPS in Beaufort are still operating.
The operating centres are the Dewan Selagon Permanent Evacuation Centre and Dewan Sri Dayang Shahbandar Padas Damit. – Bernama
