Four killed in four-vehicle crash near Bandar Baru Sagil in Tangkak

Four people including an 18-year-old girl died in a crash involving three motorcycles and a Perodua Myvi on Jalan Muar–Segamat.

TANGKAK: Four individuals including an 18-year-old girl lost their lives in a four-vehicle crash at Kilometre 32.5 of Jalan Muar–Segamat near Bandar Baru Sagil last night.

Tangkak police chief Superintendent Roslan Mohd Talib confirmed the fatal accident occurred at 10.20 pm involving three motorcycles and a Perodua Myvi car.

He stated that three victims were pronounced dead at the scene while another succumbed to injuries during treatment at Tangkak Hospital.

“The three deceased at the scene comprised two men aged 20 and an 18-year-old girl,” Roslan said.

“The fourth victim, a 19-year-old Yamaha 135LC motorcyclist, passed away while receiving medical care at the hospital,” he added when contacted by Bernama today.

Roslan clarified that all victims were either riders or pillion riders of Yamaha 135LC and Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycles.

He noted that both the driver and passenger of the Perodua Myvi emerged from the accident without injuries.

Roslan confirmed that police are still investigating the cause of the multi-vehicle crash.

He urged anyone with information about the incident to contact Investigating Officer Inspector Khairul Azmi Ibrahim at 011-12445836 or file a report at the nearest police station. – Bernama
