MACC urges private sector, GLCs and NGOs to join anti-corruption fight

The MACC calls for a partnership with the private sector, GLCs and NGOs to strengthen national anti-corruption efforts and promote integrity

SEREMBAN: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has called for a collaborative partnership with the private sector, government-linked companies (GLCs) and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to boost anti-corruption efforts.

Negeri Sembilan MACC director Awgkok Ahmad Taufik Putra Awg Ismail said the fight against corruption cannot be shouldered by the agency alone.

“Private companies and GLCs can support anti-corruption efforts, including by organising anti-corruption programmes,” he said at the state-level International Anti-Corruption Day 2025 celebration.

He stated that combating graft is a shared responsibility for all citizens regardless of their role or background.

The event was jointly organised by the Negeri Sembilan MACC, Pertubuhan IKRAM Malaysia and Rasuah Busters.

It drew nearly 200 participants including NGO representatives, students and members of the public.

The celebration aimed to encourage wider participation in supporting the national anti-corruption agenda.

Pertubuhan IKRAM Malaysia president Badlishah Sham Baharin said his organisation is ready to support the MACC.

He described it as a collective effort to cultivate a society with high integrity. – Bernama
