Severe continuous rain warnings for Kelantan, Terengganu, parts of Pahang and Johor, with alert-level warnings for other states until Dec 18

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a continuous heavy rain warning for several states until Thursday.

MetMalaysia director-general Dr Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip said severe continuous rainfall is forecast across Kelantan and Terengganu.

The same severe warning applies to parts of Pahang, namely Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin, as well as Mersing and Kota Tinggi in Johor.

An alert-level continuous rain warning is in place for Perak’s Hulu Perak and Kuala Kangsar districts.

The alert also covers Pahang’s Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Temerloh, Maran and Bera.

In Johor, the alert level applies to Segamat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru.

An alert-level warning is also expected to remain until Tuesday for several areas in Sarawak.

The affected Sarawak areas are Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu and Mukah.

The public is advised to monitor the latest weather updates through official channels.

These include the MetMalaysia website, the myCuaca app, and its official social media platforms.
