MoHE allows online classes for flood-hit universities

Flood-affected universities can switch to online teaching as operations rooms provide food, shelter and updates to students and staff.

PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Higher Education has granted flood-hit universities flexibility to conduct online teaching and learning to maintain educational continuity.

The ministry is closely monitoring flood situations in east coast and northern Peninsular states following continuous heavy rainfall.

Current floods have disrupted campus operations and teaching at several higher learning institutions.

Flood operations rooms at affected universities have been activated to provide students, staff and parents with current situation updates.

These operations rooms also offer immediate assistance including food, temporary shelter and essential supplies.

The ministry urged all affected university staff to prioritise personal safety and remain in secure locations.

Staff must follow all instructions from authorities and security personnel during the flood emergency.
