Motorcyclist killed, driver injured after tree falls on vehicles in Melaka

A 22-year-old motorcyclist died and a 19-year-old driver was injured when a tree fell on Jalan Tun Razak–Ayer Keroh in Melaka

MELAKA: A motorcyclist was killed and a car driver was injured when a tree fell onto their vehicles on Jalan Tun Razak–Ayer Keroh this afternoon.

Ayer Keroh Fire and Rescue Station Operations Commander Senior Fire Superintendent II Iswandy Ariffin said they received an emergency call at 2.30 pm.

Firefighters arrived at the scene seven minutes later to find the accident involving a motorcycle and a car.

“The firefighters worked to free the victims trapped under the tree and proceeded with cutting and clearing the debris until the area was safe,” he said in a statement.

Medical personnel pronounced the 22-year-old motorcyclist dead at the scene.

The 19-year-old female Perodua Myvi driver sustained injuries and was transported to hospital using an Emergency Medical and Rescue Services vehicle.

The operation, involving eight personnel, was completed at 3.18 pm. – Bernama
