KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s successful participation in World Expo 2025 Osaka is credited to a spirit of togetherness among all involved parties.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said the effort, prepared in a short time, carried a significant mission to elevate the nation’s dignity internationally.

He stated the Malaysia Pavilion, featuring a bamboo weaving concept, highlighted cultural unity and global innovation under the theme ‘Weaving a Future in Harmony’.

“The extraordinary response from international visitors toward the Malaysia Pavilion is something to be proud of,” he said via a Facebook post.

Fadillah noted unique attractions like the ‘Flying Roti Canai’ were recognised as the most delicious dish at the expo, strengthening food diplomacy.

The pavilion attracted 3.52 million visitors, far exceeding its initial target and serving as a mini ASEAN hub.

Overall, Malaysia’s participation attracted 1.5 million visitors and generated potential trade and investment worth RM13 billion.

Fadillah later clarified the total potential trade and investment secured was actually RM24.45 billion, exceeding the original target.

He said this success resulted from a “whole-of-government” approach involving ministries, state governments, agencies, and hundreds of companies.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his highest appreciation for the Malaysia Pavilion team’s sacrifices over the 184-day event.

He extended congratulations to the expo secretariat and thanks to all parties involved directly and indirectly.
