MyDigital ID will be the sole sign-on platform for Malaysians using the MyNIISe immigration app from January 15, enhancing security and user convenience.
PUTRAJAYA: The Home Ministry will implement MyDigital ID as the sole sign-on platform for Malaysians accessing the National Integrated Immigration System (MyNIISe) mobile application from January 15.
Foreign travellers will continue to use the existing login method for the MyNIISe application without any changes.
The implementation is part of the NIISe initiative to verify user identities accurately and securely through the National Registration Department database.
This approach does not store users’ personal data. “This approach enhances the security of digital transactions while improving user experience through a single login, eliminating the need to remember multiple passwords,” the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry encouraged Malaysians aged 18 and above to download and register for the MyDigital ID application before using MyNIISe.
The app is available on the Apple App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery.
The MyNIISe application was introduced last September at immigration complexes in Johor Bahru.
It will be expanded in stages to Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminals 1 and 2, and to airports in Bayan Lepas, Kuching, and Kota Kinabalu.
As of December 30, MyNIISe recorded 599,967 downloads and 287,258 registered users.
The ministry said the move reflects the government’s commitment to modernising public services through secure and efficient digitalisation.
