Malaysia’s MyJalan app has resolved over 95% of road damage complaints since 2023, with an upgraded version set to improve proactive maintenance
KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Works has resolved 95.83% of road damage complaints logged through its MyJalan application since August 2023.
Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said 12,890 out of 13,451 complaints under the ministry’s purview have been addressed.
He stated this proves MyJalan is now the backbone of the country’s road maintenance management.
“This capability will continue to be enhanced through the launch of MyJalan 2.0,” he said at the ministry’s monthly assembly.
The upgraded app will provide smart integration, real-time status tracking and safety analytics.
Alexander said this will ensure repairs can be made more proactively and efficiently.
He highlighted various high-impact projects completed this year that benefit the public.
These include seven hospitals, 14 health clinics and 127 projects to address school overcrowding.
The initiative to upgrade hybrid solar systems in Sabah and Sarawak ensures rural schools have 24-hour electricity.
Alexander noted the government is strengthening social safety nets through a police lift upgrade programme.
This initiative has benefited more than 12,620 police personnel and their families.
He also cited the completion of the Bagan Datuk–Kampung Sejagop Bridge as a world-class project.
The bridge has raised the country’s technical and engineering capabilities internationally.
An initiative to upgrade 67 junctions to Smart Traffic Lights has increased traffic efficiency.
Alexander said this upgrade also reduces the risk of accidents on Malaysian roads.
He concluded that these developments make infrastructure more inclusive and people-oriented. – Bernama
