MyNIISe QR code system sees over 350,000 registrations at Johor-Singapore border, with 16,000 motorcycle lane users in first two weeks.

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Over 350,000 users have registered to use the National Integrated Immigration System (MyNIISe) QR code at the Johor-Singapore border entry points.

Johor Public Works, Transport, Infrastructure and Communications Committee chairman Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh said the registration rate among Malaysians was still low compared to expectations.

He expressed hope that more Malaysians would register for the system following the current total of 358,000 people.

Mohamad Fazli revealed that approximately 15,000 Malaysians and 800 Singaporeans had used the motorcycle lane system since its implementation on October 15.

The total number of motorcycle lane users reached nearly 16,000 during the first two weeks of operation.

He provided these details during a press conference after the official handover ceremony for the Variable Message Sign project at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex in Gelang Patah.

There are seven outbound motorcycle lanes equipped with the MyNIISe system at the Sultan Iskandar Building in Johor Bahru.

The Sultan Abu Bakar Complex features four inbound and four outbound motorcycle lanes with the MyNIISe system.

An additional inbound motorcycle lane at the Sultan Iskandar Building is currently being installed with the MyNIISe system.

Mohamad Fazli noted that users have provided positive feedback regarding the facility so far.

He urged more Malaysians to download and register for the MyNIISe application, which can be used for cars, motorcycles and buses.

In other developments, Mohamad Fazli announced that the project to replace and add electronic signs at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex was completed three months ahead of schedule.

The 3.6 million ringgit project was implemented in collaboration with the Home Ministry and the Public Works Department.

The project was originally scheduled for completion in December but was finished in September.

Fourteen electronic signboards were installed in the complex area to improve the information delivery system at the country’s entrance.

Mohamad Fazli explained that manual methods such as banners and buntings were previously used for information display.

The new Variable Message Sign system allows all information to be displayed electronically for welcoming tourists, including for Visit Johor Year 2026.

The Variable Message Sign system will also be installed at the Sultan Iskandar Building through an ongoing new replacement project. – Bernama
