The Pahang government has resolved 98% of long-standing land ownership issues for settlers, with the remaining cases involving technical inheritance matters.
KUANTAN: The Pahang government has resolved 98% of settler land ownership issues through continuous efforts by various parties.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the achievement proves the state’s commitment to protecting the rights of nearly 43,000 settlers.
He made the remarks after the handover of land titles for Felda Lepar Utara 1, 2 and 4 as well as Tanah Rakyat Scheme settlers.
“With the handover of ownership titles today, we have achieved 98 per cent resolution of settler land ownership issues,” he said.
Wan Rosdy noted that some settlers had waited over 42 years for their titles, attributing delays to compliance with procedures and regulations.
Efforts to resolve the remaining two per cent will continue.
Wan Rosdy said these cases mostly involve technical issues regarding inheritance.
He also advised settlers who received their titles to take good care of their properties.
They were urged to maintain or increase their existing revenue streams.
