Police question six witnesses in Kampung Pandan school assault case

KL police record statements from six witnesses in a school sexual assault case involving an 11-year-old boy, with a teacher remanded for investigation.

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have recorded statements from six witnesses to assist investigations into a sexual assault case involving an 11-year-old boy at a school in Kampung Pandan.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said investigations are also ongoing to determine whether other pupils may have been victims.

“Investigations are ongoing and the completed investigation paper will be referred to the deputy public prosecutor as soon as possible for further instructions,” he said in a statement.

A 40-year-old teacher from the school was detained earlier to assist in the investigation.

Fadil said checks revealed the educator has no prior criminal record and has been remanded for six days.

Police received a report on the case last Tuesday.

The case is being investigated under Section 14(d) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017. – Bernama
