Three Rahmah Cash Aid recipients win a five-minute trolley dash at AEON Mall Cheras Selatan after saving RM50 monthly in a BSN campaign.
PETALING JAYA: They saved as little as RM50 a month — and walked away with a RM5,000 supermarket sweep.
Three Rahmah Cash Aid (STR) recipients were rewarded with a five-minute trolley dash at AEON Mall Cheras Selatan after taking part in a Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) campaign aimed at building a savings culture among government aid recipients.
The sweep was the grand prize of BSN’s Sijil Simpanan Premium (SSP) with BSN GIRO-i 2025 Bundle Campaign, which ran from Aug 1 to Dec 31 last year.
The campaign encouraged STR recipients to set aside part of their cash aid through BSN SSP, with participants required to save at least RM50 a month over three months during the campaign period.
The three grand prize winners comprised two customers from Perak and one from Kuala Lumpur.
Another 200 BSN STR customers won prizes across four categories.
BSN acting chief executive Mujibburrahman Abd Rashid said the campaign reflected the bank’s continued commitment to fostering a savings culture and enhancing financial inclusion, particularly among communities benefiting from government assistance.
“We hope more STR recipients will be encouraged to make saving part of their daily financial management practices.
“Even starting with a small amount, consistent savings can help build greater security for the future,” he said in a statement today.
Mujibburrahman said BSN would continue to introduce initiatives that provided added value to customers while encouraging smarter financial planning towards sustainable financial wellbeing.
BSN SSP is a shariah-compliant premium savings certificate that allows customers to save from as low as RM10, with returns depending on the type of placement.
Savings under the product also qualify for participation in BSN SSP draws, subject to terms and conditions, and can be made through BSN branches, ATMs, agents, internet banking and its mobile app.
