Tenaga Nasional Berhad shuts down electricity in parts of Kuantan due to flooding, affecting several substations for public safety.
KUANTAN: Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has cut off the electricity supply in several areas of this district following continuous rain and flooding.
The utility firm announced the shutdown in a Facebook post, citing safety concerns for local consumers.
Affected substations include those serving Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Damai, Seri Damai Sejahtera 1 and 2, and Lorong Seri Damai Jaya 9.
Other impacted locations are Jalan Seri Damai Jaya 1/13 and the Mat Kilau area.
TNB advised the public not to turn on electrical appliances if plugs or power sockets are wet or dirty.
Separately, flood victim numbers continue to rise across the region.
As of 12 noon, the JKM Infobencana application recorded 2,860 victims from 889 families.
These evacuees are taking shelter in 29 temporary relief centres across the districts of Kuantan, Maran, and Rompin.
