Zambry dismisses claims of state marginalisation in education

Higher Education Minister says no state is marginalised, highlights RM1 billion Sabah allocation and equal access for all Malaysian students

TAWAU: The public should not believe claims that certain states are being marginalised in education, said Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.

He stated the government consistently ensures equal access to higher education for all citizens regardless of their state of origin.

“We do not differentiate where they come from. They are all our Malaysian children who deserve the right to education,” he said.

Zambry spoke at the Community TVET Exploration Programme also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at Tawau Community College.

He added that providing quality and inclusive education nationwide is MADANI government policy.

As proof of commitment, the government has allocated over RM1 billion specifically for higher education development in Sabah.

“Let’s not listen to nonsense stories that say this is not given and that is not given. We live as Malaysians, we all want to give the best to the children of our future generation,” he said.

Zambry emphasised public support is crucial for effectively implementing government efforts to strengthen education.

The programme themed “TVET, the Top Career Choice” promoted Technical and Vocational Education and Training through grassroots advocacy.

Over 1,000 visitors including school students, youths and community members attended the interactive activities. – Bernama
