Petrol, diesel prices drop by 2 sen for the week

RON97, unsubsidised RON95 and diesel prices fall by 2 sen per litre for the coming week, while subsidised RON95 remains at RM1.99.

KUALA LUMPUR: The retail price of RON97 petrol will decrease by two sen to RM3.27 per litre from Wednesday to Tuesday.

The price of unsubsidised RON95 petrol will also drop by two sen to RM2.64 per litre for the same period.

Diesel prices in Peninsular Malaysia will fall by two sen to RM3.06 per litre.

Prices for diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan will remain unchanged at RM2.15 per litre.

The subsidised price for RON95 under the BUDI MADANI programme stays at RM1.99 per litre.

The Ministry of Finance said the weekly price determination uses the Automatic Pricing Mechanism formula.

“The government will continue to monitor market developments and adjust the retail prices of RON97, RON95 and diesel,” it said in a statement.

It added that adjustments are made by taking global oil price movements into account to ensure stability.

Appropriate measures will be taken to safeguard the people’s welfare, the ministry stated.
